Unlimited Lameness: Juuou Muujin no Fafnir

I don’t know why I picked this picture, but ok… Click bait?

Hi all. Long time no review. But I’m honestly rushing since its the 2 weeks break before the Fall season starts. So far I cleared this and one more show, I will look at my backlogs for any shows that are finishing and clear them all as quick as possible.

Light novel origin. Anime aired for 12 eps.

Storyline is pretty damn generic. Concepts, settings are probably something we saw back in 2012 and it’s still lingers around the same mode. The story was incredibly predictable, to the point that the comedy also can be seen a mile away. Surprisingly Kusakawa Keizo directed the show, this is probably his worst work, but also might be because the source material wasn’t worth much to make an epic story. I did not enjoy the show one bit. I did drop this show back in 2015, but ended up giving it a chance anyway. Ending was just um… worth nothing. The spells they used are only 1 or 2, that’s it. It’s incredibly repetitive. Judging from the “Dark Matter can materialise everything”, they really has no variety in attacks. The character development is just trash and there was nothing worth remembering at all. Overall, just trash.

Animation by Diomedea. Quality was subpar, but Diomedea has done such quality for shows that isn’t worth spending money into. Colors were ok. Character designs were… on and off. It took me sometime to get used to the designs.

Music is great, oddly. OP by Trustrick was just great, ED was decent. BGMs were average.

Cast is great. Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Hidaka Rina, Numakura Manami, Kanemoto Hisako, Hanazawa Kana, Tokui Sora, Sakura Ayane, Inoue Marina, Hayami Saori, Yamaguchi Rikako, Hiyama Nobuyuki. This is probably the only thing that was nailed right in the entire anime work, which is just depressing.

Score:

Story: 6.5/10

Art: 7/10

Music: 8/10

VA: 8/10

Don’t waste your time on the show. Not worth it. Probably better as a time waster.

  1. Hello! Overall, I agree with your review. I liked the series in the beginning… The first few episodes were pretty good until after Tear-chan’s arc. After that… nothing happened. The same thing kept happening again and again. A dragon would show up and they would defeat it. There was no character development like in the beginning, and the main character’s relationship with silver-haired girl never went anywhere. It could have been a decent series, but it ended up forgettable in the same D:

    Thanks for the review!
