Sugar, Spice and Everything Cheese: Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai

Hey! Just finished this movie a few hours ago at the point of writing this.

Original story, HoneyWorks did the storyline awhile back when they made the music. Movie ran for 63mins with a bit of after-credits scenes.

This movies both as a prequel, a parallel and a bit of a sequel. This make the movie pretty complicated, because of its multiple roles in the timeline. 63mins is also pretty short, so they ultimately decide to cut Sena’s role in the movie to concentrate on Hina and Kotarou instead. I don’t find the move shocking, its expected. I wish they can make a 3rd movie, centered towards Sena and Midori. The storyline is the same sweet-bitter feel from the previous movie. Pacing is pretty decent and the comedy has increased. The ending felt extremely sweet, ending at the point where Natsuki and Yuu dated for sometime. I honestly wish for a 3rd movie. I really enjoyed the series because its hard to see such cheesy bitter-sweet romance nowadays. Overall, this really brought a lot of things on the plate even though it sometimes parallel story with the first movie.

Animations by Qualia Animation. Quality is pretty much the same with the first movie, which is good enough.

Music is awesome because HoneyWorks. They didn’t feature as many songs as the previous movie, but its fine to me.

VAs is the same as the first, with a few additions. Asakura Momo, Nanae Natsuki, Amamiya Sora, Gero, Hosoya Yoshimasa, Toyama Nao, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu. I really love Momo’s performance in the movie, she sounds extremely fitting. I still hate Yonaga Tsubasa’s voice here, he sound like he’s ready to voice a female character anytime soon.

Score:

Story: 8.5/10

Art: 8/10

Music: 8.5/10

VAs: 9/10

Highly recommended for all romance comedy watchers. This movie isn’t that depressing for me than the first, because there wasn’t much Koyuki moments, but it still feels a bit sad that Koyuki still ended up being alone.

More posts tomorrow.
