Finally finished another show. This one is excellent, it pulls me back to depression again. One advice, dont waste your time on White Album1, its an absolute waste of time, just skip to this one, both series have no links to one another.
Originated from a VN. Anime lasted for 13 eps, this show is one of those rare gems of VN adaptation.
Storyline is well done. They managed to pace pretty well with just 13 eps. This is really quite a sweet-turned-bitter love story with a very indecisive main male character. This show is pretty underrated. Character personalities can be rather typical, but there is a lot of character development. The romance plot twist was quite what I expected,
maybe because I have a similar experience myself, thats why I seen it coming. but it was extremely bitter. Again, maybe because I experienced it myself. The ending tho, its… not considered a happy ending, even when a couple got together, the other party will still cry. I love these types of endings. Overall, its an excellent adaptation, it was strong enough to make go back to depression.
Animations by Satelight. Surprisingly, its actually pretty well done, from the rendering, color palette, backgrounds and character designs. They can actually get things done when they get serious.
Music is fantastic. Both the OP and ED are epic.
OP TV ver
OP Full ver
ED Full ver
I love them both, the ED made the show even more serious.
VAs is a pretty nice list. Nabatame Hitomi, Yonazawa Madoka, Mizushima Takahiro, Sugiyama Noriaki, Terashima Takuma, Kaji Yuki. All of them did excellently. I loved Nabatame Hitomi’s voice, her voice is very charismatic and I can somewhat feel the emotions during the confessions scene, I nearly cried because I can understand the situation very well.
Speaking of confessions, time for some self-emo moments.
Best girl is definitely her, Touma Kazusa. Charismatic voice, cute face and nice body.
Anti-social? Checked. Plays the piano? Checked. Had a crush? Checked. Your crush ended up dating your best friend experience? Checked.
This girl is definitely me. But she had a happy ending, unlike me. The part when she confessed to him is like the time when my crush talked to me about it after dating my colleague.
I seriously need to be careful with my picks on depressing shows, including her, I have already 5 characters that have the same experience as me.
Highly recommended, its not as depressing for some, but some will think its quite heartbreaking.
