Everything has to come to an end: Summer 2015 wrap-up

Yeah im back, but nothing much to write but to wrapup last season.

Working!!!

This season would say i was expecting a complete wrap up since the manga ended long ago. So far it has tied up some loose ends, like Yamada’s family, Yachiyo and Satou. But still there are some loose ends left hanging, like Souta and Inami, Kozue and Yohei yes i ship them. Just that slight flaw, hopefully the 14th ep does its job. Artwork still superb as always and soundtrack bubbly.

Okusama no Seitokaichou

We need more of this nowadays, this is so much better than To Love-ru as this has something simple, development. To Love-ru is showing us deadlocks for 4 seasons already. Such a pity its a short 8min type. Ended pretty nicely, but i still crave for more. Artwork is considered pretty well done for a short anime as sometimes budget constraints can lead to what Teekyu been pulling off for 7 seasons. Music is also damn well done. And lastly Kaneda Tomoko really made the entire anime looks like its drown with botox.

Wakaba*Girl

Aka the reincarnation of Kinloli Mosaic. This one brings joy for all the lolis once again since its done by Hara Yui. Overall the story brings a whole new level of absurdness to the normal world i live in. VAs are all well done and the OP is pretty addictive. Artwork i would say its not really into it but its pretty ok, at least its better than Teekyu.

Sore ga SeiyuuNot bad, and not as entertaining as expected. Even though it does bring us a in-depth look on a life of a seiyuu and also a seiyuu manager. The plus side would be well-known seiyuus cameoing around but the minus would be the storyline and pacing, its developing so slow it tends to get boring and monotonous. They are trying to pull off what Shirobako did but they failed, might be the reason why they cut down by 1 ep. VAs are pretty ok and artwork seems fine for me, i never liked Gonzo’s art so might be just me. Music is a mixed bag, love and hate relationship going on right now.

Miss Monochrome 2

Same old entertaining and addictive, cannot get past a week without this. Her journey did developed a lot this season and its going to climax on current season, for sure. Music downright same old unique feel and VAs same old perfection. And guess what, Ru-chan finally got a voice! But for 2 eps tho, and Kamiya Hiroshi is voicing it. Auto-tuning is the way.

Himouto! Umaru-chan

no one can get past this boss stage

Downright hilarious and injuries-inducing, falling off a chair, stomachaches, etc. Any injuries after a long laugh, you name it, i got it. Storyline dont progress, they just stay at one spot, but they goes through the loopholes and cause immense amount of laughing gas. Anyone who didnt laugh watching this is obviously lack sense of humor. Music is addictive, and VAs are all well done, especially for Umaru’s voice. We need another season, its been a depressing season for me, this has been countering it. Artwork is cute and pretty eye candy, good job Dogakobo

Gakkou Gurashi

The most mindfuck this season, it brings joy and helplessness into one mix and cause a very large tornado of confusing feels, its not confusing, but the roller coaster ride is just too damn harsh. The feels at the end did overwhelm me but failed to impress. It does leave the whole anime look like a camp in school with zombie props, not much progression as expected, and a few history questions still left unanswered. Definitely need another season. The art is unique and does bring contrast to what the anime is actually trying to bring, but the censorship for zombies does turn me off sometimes, but hey this isnt The Walking Dead, so imma just let it pass. Music is pretty addictive, the OP once again brings contrast to what the anime brings. VAs well done but why ask Emiri Kato to voice Taromaru?! THATS BLASPHEMY. #RIPTaromaru

Charlotte

Another boss stage that no one can overcome, the Imouto. Someone give her a “Imouto of the Year” award pls.

Maeda Jun doing his job again, bringing feels to the world, but this one isnt as feely as Angel Beats, gotta admit. The story does escalate at a pace that people might lose track but its still manageable. The point where the Imouto dies, it nearly lead me to drop the series and boycott Maeda Jun, but then was brought back again after the shitstorm i caused over the internet and then my faith for the anime returns. The 2nd half is all seriousness with a tad bit of comedy to lighten the mood but the ending failed to impress, it only leads me to feel pity instead of sadness, kinda expect this to happen, judging from how much they trying to squeeze in one ep. Music is same old classic addictive and VAs are all pretty legit. Art by P.A.Works and it proves that over the years they have improved. Key has announced the anime for Rewrite, cant wait, but why 8-bit this time? Running out of money? At least go for KyoAni once again, i miss that Clannad-Kanon era.

Fate /kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!

Nothing much to write home about this season, 7eps of slice of life and then action the last 3, very rushed, very compressed, and very disappointing. Silver Link is starting to lose it. But the positive thing is they confirmed the adaptation of 3rei, so cant wait. Music is like a downgrade but the art and VAs been pretty consistent. Love and Hate this season.

Score:

Story: 6.5/10

That pretty much wraps up my wrap up cwidt?

My first impressions post and the OVAs and movies for Summer will come next week. This season i would say its better than Spring and Winter.

  1. I liked the first season of Fate Illya. Sad to hear that they have not got the balance right for the second season. Only three episodes of action and rushing the story is disappointing.
